The First Rule of Game Night

We're not negotiating world peace; we're just playing games. The whole point is to have a good time and relax. So don't take yourself too seriously, and we promise to do the same. (Oh, and you're definitely allowed to talk about Game Nights. In fact, we prefer you do!)

Games are for Everyone

No one's here to judge your gaming skills or your choice of snacks. Everyone is welcome at our game nights, even if your 'house rules' are clearly from a different game. Enjoy a common space where everyone feels comfortable and valued. Old or new, we're all friends here (but that doesn't mean we won't laugh at your terrible bluffs).

Keep it Clean

We have a zero-tolerance policy towards offensive language, inappropriate comments, disrespectful behavior, or poor hygiene. Remember, we're all here to have fun and connect with others. We treat each other with kindness and respect, even if you're trying to build a secret alliance behind my back.

Just Ask

You know what's not fun? Being confused about the rules. The only dumb question is the one you don't ask. Game nights are for you to enjoy, and you can't do that if you're confused. So ask your tablemates. Ask your friends. Ask JR.! That's what he's here for!

One of the hardest parts about getting people together to play board games is the task of deciding what to play and making sure that everyone knows what the rules are. Going to JR's board game night solves both of these problems. He brings a few options and explains the board game to the group making it really easy to just jump right in and have a good time! You also get to try new board games which is really fun! Also, it's really great getting to meet new people and playing board games and making new friends! It's a really great time and it's a really great way to meet new people! JR has a natural talent of bringing people together!

Think of it as game night turned pro. The guy runs the room like he’s auditioning to be your favorite teacher—safe vibes, endless enthusiasm, and not a dull moment in sight. Whether you’re a board game whiz or you think "Catan" is a type of pasta, JR’s got you covered. He’s a curator of sorts and his knowledge of games could fill a small library. Stuck on what to play? No worries—JR will practically read your mind and whip out a game that feels custom-made for you. It's rare to find a host who can keep the energy this high while still making it all feel relaxed and inclusive. Ten out of ten—just don’t challenge JR to a game he’s too good at, or you’ll be outwitted in record time.

JR introduced me to game nights 9 years ago and I look forward to them every week. He's patient in walking me through the rules and knows all the tips and tricks for winning. I haven't played a game I didn't enjoy yet! (Although, I admit I like the easier, short games for quick rounds.)

I recently attended Board Games with JR and had an amazing time! The atmosphere was incredibly welcoming, and JR did a fantastic job of helping everyone feel comfortable, regardless of skill level. There was a great variety of games to choose from, and I loved getting to know other players while trying out some new strategies.
